An official trailer has been released for the upcoming action adventure movie Meg 2: The Trench, starring Jason Statham and Wu Jing.
Meg 2 is the sequel to the 2018 film The Meg.
With the promise of multiple massive Megs aka Megalodon sharks, according to the official synopsis — Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham) and Jiuming Zhang (Wu Jing) lead a daring research team on an exploratory dive into the deepest depths of the ocean. Their voyage spirals into chaos when a malevolent mining operation threatens their mission and forces them into a high-stakes battle for survival. Pitted against colossal Megs and relentless environmental plunderers, our heroes must outrun, outsmart, and outswim their merciless predators in a pulse-pounding race against time.
Directed by Ben Wheatley, the film will also star Sophia Cai, Page Kennedy, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Skyler Samuels and Cliff Curtis.
It is scheduled to be released in theaters in North America on August 4th, 2023 and internationally beginning August 2nd, 2023.
