An official red band trailer has been released for the horror movie Evil Dead Rise, the fifth installment in the Evil Dead film series.
According to the official synopsis — Moving the action out of the woods and into the city, “Evil Dead Rise” tells a twisted tale of two estranged sisters, whose reunion is cut short by the rise of flesh-possessing demons, thrusting them into a primal battle for survival as they face the most nightmarish version of family imaginable.
Directed and written by Lee Cronin, the movie stars Alyssa Sutherland, Lily Sullivan, Morgan Davies, Gabrielle Echols and Nell Fisher.
Sam Raimi who created the film series serves as an executive producer, along with Evil Dead star Bruce Campbell, as well as John Keville, Macdara Kelleher, Richard Brener, Dave Neustadter, Romel Adam and Victoria Palmieri.
According to Variety, the film was initially planned as an exclusive HBO Max release, but Warner Bros. Discovery decided to give the horror movie a theatrical release instead.
The film is now scheduled to be released in theaters in North America on April 21st, 2023 and internationally beginning April 19th, 2023.
A short teaser trailer was also released ahead of the red band trailer yesterday (January 3rd).
